•  Taiwanese Sliced Pork Belly | Easy to Make Recipe

My Grandma's recipe, this is one of the easiest ways to prepare Pork Belly.  I always got so excited when  she would make this dish, because it's pork belly (and I love all things pork belly) plus it was always so fun to watch the way she plated and garnished everything.

Instead of normally braising, she takes whole pork belly, and simmer and cooks it until the meat is tender.  Then, after letting it cool for a few minutes, she slices the pork into thin bite sized pieces before fanning them out on a serving plate.  Finally, the pork is drizzled with a soy sauce glaze, and topped with plenty of green onions and cilantro.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs. pork belly
  • green onions, sliced
  • cilantro
  • soy sauce glaze

for dipping sauce:
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. cane sugar
  • garlic, minced
  • ginger, minced
  • green onions
  • cilantro

Ready in Total Time:  45 min.

Prep Time =   5 min.
Cook Time =  40 min.

Preparation:

For the full preparation method and instructions, watch the YouTube video tutorial here.

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Simmer and cook covered the pork belly for 15 minutes.
  3. After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let the pork continue to cook with the residual heat for another 25 minutes.
  4. Once the meat is tender, remove and let cool before slicing & garnishing.
