  • Green Tea (Matcha) Red Bean Smoothie | Simple Recipe

Picture

Green Tea (Matcha) & Red Beans are two of my favorite ingredients.  When I put them together in this recipe, they make a deliciously addictive matcha red bean smoothie drink.

If you have the time, you could always make your own homemade red bean paste.  If not, you can also use a store bought can (or package) of red beans (aka Adzuki beans) from your local Asian supermarket.  There are many textures of the pre-made red bean paste:  from smooth to coarse - I prefer the coarse texture to give the drink some rustic personality.  ; )

Note:  I'm using a Vitamix personal sized blender in this video.  Some advice on blenders:  after owning both a Blendtec and NutriBullet, I can say the Vitamix is my favorite to use because it blends ice the best for smoothies + it's got a small kitchen countertop footprint.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup of ice
  • 1 tsp. matcha powder
  • 1.5 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 Tbsp. sweetened red bean paste
  • whipped cream (highly recommended)

Ready in Total Time:  5 min.

Prep Time =  5 min.
Cook Time =  (none yay!)
