  • Almond Flavored Milk Tea (Bubble Tea) Recipe

My Almond Milk Tea Recipe is made from Chinese Almonds also known as Southern Almonds.  (Note that these are not the typical almonds you find at your local US grocery stores)  The taste of this drink is similar to that of Chinese Almond Tofu dessert because these are the same almonds used for that flavor.

In this video tutorial I'll show you how to grind these almonds to a fine powder and mix it in with my Authentic Taiwanese Milk Tea Recipe to make an all-natural Almond Flavored Milk Tea.  Boba Pearls or other add-ins like Coffee Jelly are completely optional but pair well in this refreshing drink.  : )

Tip:  You can usually find these Chinese Almonds at Asian Supermarkets in the herb or spice isles.  If not, check with your local Chinese herb or medicine shop.  They will most likely have it there since these almonds are also used in some traditional Chinese Medicine recipes and soups.

Ingredients:

  • 1 heaping Tbsp., ground Chinese Almonds
  • 2 bags of Red Rose Tea Original Blend
  • 1 -2 Tbsp. Cane Sugar (to taste)
  • 2-3 Tbsp. non-dairy creamer (I'm using Coffee-mate)
  • 8 oz. - 10oz. of hot water
  • ice cubes

You will need a martini shaker for this recipe.  Using a martini shaker creates a light foamy texture to the drink.  This is how they make Bubble Tea in Taiwan.

Ready in Total Time:  10 min.

Prep Time = 10 min.
Cook Time =  (none yay!)
